Dunkin' Donuts has teamed up with the New York Mets to hold a charitable online auction benefiting the Mets Foundation. From now through June 18, fans can visit www.Mets.com to bid on dozens of unique items and Mets experiences and, at the same time, feel good about supporting a foundation that is dedicated to supporting the Metro New York community.
The charitable online auction which is being hosted by MLB Advanced Media L.P., the interactive media and Internet company of Major League Baseball features items and experiences that will appeal to virtually all Mets fans and vary in price range and level of exclusivity. The following is a sampling of items that are available for bid:
# Baseballs autographed by Kaz Matsui, Al Leiter, Tom Glavine, Tom Seaver and Keith Hernandez
# Opportunity to throw out the ceremonial 1st pitch at Shea Stadium
# Mets Ice Cube Trays (makes actual Mets logos on the top of each cube and comes with a recipe for making Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee at home) & one pound of Dunkin' Donuts coffee
# Actual game-used line-up card, autographed by Mets Manager Art Howe
# Opportunity for two (2) to watch batting practice and tickets to the game
# Diamond Club Suite Party for 15 people
# Actual game-used base from 2004 Mets Opening Day
Ninety percent of the proceeds from the online auction will benefit the Mets Foundation. In order to maintain compliance with charitable solicitation laws, participation in the online auction is limited to residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
