Apparently it was too labor-intensive to hand-twist all those cruellers. They now feature &quot;the stick,&quot; which is a far cry from a crueller. Fortunately, small independent donut shops continue to supply cruellers.</description>

					<description>The store I work at still sells crullers.  The bakers use a hang crank device that drops the dough in the grease, just like with the cake donuts.  No twisting involved.</description>
