Dunkin’ Donuts has taken a step forward by creating a ground-breaking health insurance plan for its very large workforce. Each individual owner will have the ability to offer a nationwide health care plan for its employees. With this new health care plan Dunkin’ Donuts takes a step toward Starbucks in terms of quality of life it’s able to offer its employees.

“We wanted to make sure we were rolling out a quality program and that all of our franchisees could participate,” said Suzanne Parsons, Dunkin’ Donuts human resources director.

Some franchisees already offer their workers health insurance, but they’ve had trouble negotiating good deals because they are so small, she said.
