Discrete Drinking of Dunkin Donuts Coffee in Good Will Hunting

6

About once a quarter, my wife wants to watch Good Will Hunting, which of course we own on DVD. As with watching any movie several times, I typically notice something new with each viewing. What did I notice this past Saturday night when watching it for the gozillionth time? The first scene in which Chuckie (Ben Affleck) picks up Will (Matt Damon) for work, he brings with him two fresh cups of Dunkin Donuts Coffee. In searching for references to this scene, I found that, according to American Way Magazine and other sources, Ben is a big fan. Who knew?

The scene where Will says “Do you like apples…well I got her numbah…how ya like them apples”, The “Michael Bolton Clone” is sitting with his friends in a Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins. FYI

Such a coincidence! After watching The Wizard of Oz for the 69th time, I noticed a Dunkin’ cup sitting on the curbing of the Yellow Brick Road just past where the Scare Crow’s understudy hung himself from a stage light.

One of my wife’s favorite scenes, “Do you like apples…” I’ll watch for that in the next viewing. I can’t believe there’s a Dunkin’ cup on the Yellow Brick Road. Elton John should’ve slipped that into his Yellow Brick Road lyrics.

This is hilarious! I will have to look for those the next time I watch. Now I have to “go see about a girl” (my wife!)

Dunkin’ Donuts is the lifeblood of most Bostonians. It goes way beyond product placement; Bostonians acually pump Dunkies through their veins. (Also it taste’s better there for some reason),
