I'm going bald pretty fast and have shaved my head. Recently an Asian lady in a laundry I use regularly asked me why I did it. When I told her I ended up getting a lecture that only holy men like monks are supposed to do that.

I don't think she was trying to be rude but I sure felt like telling her where to stick her ideas.

This seems almost the same in reverse to me. and it's dissapointing DD chose to cave in.

I am glad to see that so many of the postings on this thread recognize that DD has caved into bigotry and fear-mongering. As Vietnam Vet Mr. Smith mentions, this is still supposed to be a free country, and the Malkins of the world just do not understand that. Dunkin caved, as did Rachael Ray. I assume she collected her check for the ad; she has not commented on the fiasco, as far as I can tell.

If interested, click on the URL I've posted here -- I have been inspired to add a Dunkin Donuts page to my otherwise-positive coffee web site.

I certainly won't be supporting Dunkin Donuts anymore. Pulling the ad was gutless and pandering to the opinions of prejudiced individuals. Poor form.

Since I see Duncan Donuts all over the place here in Boston and people are always carrying food from there in the morning I thought they must be pretty good. However, there must be some special language you have to order in because every time I go into a Duncan Donuts and say "I would like a classic breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon" the counter attendant looks at me like I've lost my mind and goes "huh..?"

Seriously, I've tried to order there three times and out of three attempts they've got my order wrong once and the other two times I just gave up after repeating myself three times and left to get my breakfast somewhere else.

This morning I went in to the Duncan Donuts on Congress Street and said at the counter "I would like a classic breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon" and the guy at the counter said "what..?" I pointed at the menu and said "it's the top left item on the menu. I want that. I want it on a croissant with bacon." He looked at me like I had lost my mind and said "you want what..?" At that point I said "you know what, nevermind" and went next door to order my breakfast sandwich at the Metro Cafe.

So my question is: How do I order food at Duncan Donuts?

EE, it's not a keffiyah. It's a SCARF. With paisleys on it. And a fringe. Keffiyahs do not have paisleys on them, nor do they have a fringe. Keffiyahs are worn by Arab men, throughout the Arab world, to keep the sun off their heads, not by American cable TV stars making jillions of dollars. Malkin chose to liken it to a keffiyah so she could do a little casual terrorizing. There's no argument to criticize.

That was pretty silly. Dunkin listening to Malkin? I don't think any body else out there that can think for themselves do. Mosy of us are worried about paying for our dinuts these days. Not, what type of clothes are being worn on a donut poster. Dunkin should re-think there policy. Next Malkin might insist all dounut cups come with a swastika imprinted on them.

Did any of you actually read what Michelle Malkin said, or were you too busy proudly proclaiming your own patriotism as if it somehow adds strength to your position that the scarf doesn't matter? The problem is, you're all attacking a straw man. Malkin never said Rachael Ray supported terrorism. She specifically said she thinks it's out of ignorance, not ideology. Her whole point is not to force people to not wear the scarf. Her purpose is to get people to understand what kind of a statement they are making when they choose to wear it. Just like the morons that go strutting around in Che t-shirts without realizing that the man they are putting on their chest wanted to nuke New York City, it's the fact that people wear the kaffiyeh WITHOUT realizing it is a symbol of Palestinian solidarity that is the problem. If you're going to criticize her, try to make sure you're at least criticizing her argument, rather than just preening in your own open-minded patriotism.

I am a conservative and a 23 year member of the military. I am appalled that anyone would think that this commercial could be a message in support of terrorism. Malkin, and anybody following in here train of thought (left or right wing) are fanatical extemist that are trying to damage this country. There are names for people such as this, home grown or political terrorist. Shame on you DD for pulling that add.

When is somebody going to show some backbone in this country? Dunkin' Donuts should never have pulled that ad. DD, and Rachael Ray, and everyone else involved should have told Michelle Malkin to shove it. It is way, way overdue for someone - anyone - to stand up to these right-wingers who employ the very same fear-mongering terrorist tactics that they pretend to deplore. Are you sick of being called an America-hater, a terrorist, a traitor, and Lord knows what else, because you disagree with these totalitarians? Then SPEAK UP!! And that goes for corporate America too!
