Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. says participating restaurants are marking Tuesday’s installation of Barack Obama as president by offering something for free.The promotional offer is good for one doughnut of choice per customer on Tuesday, which is Inauguration Day. No purchase is necessary. According to a news release, Krispy Kreme stores “are making an oath to tasty goodies.”
Winston-Salem-based Krispy Kreme is not alone in commemorating the inauguration with special initiatives and offers.
Dunkin’ Donuts has been celebrating the event by selling a new “Stars & Stripes” doughnut for 89 cents through Tuesday. The frosted doughnut is decorated with red, white and blue star-shaped sprinkles.
