If you’re not yet following Dunkin Donuts corporate on Twitter you should do that. They do a great job of pushing DD out to us. It’s also a nice glimpse of DD user around the country.

Hi DunkinDonutsTalk.com community, we’ll be going through an upgrade this holiday weekend. Please check back early and often to see what’s new.
Scott
So I’m on a trip to NYC this week and I’m sitting in my hotel room overlooking a small section of the city, sipping my Dunkin Donuts coffee and thinking about life. For those of you that read this blog often know that I love and am very loyal to a few things in life. My wife, my coffee, and my sports teams (Packers and Cubs).
As I’m thinking about the situation in Green Bay right now it’s obvious there are so many things wrong with it. Looking out over the city here with my coffee in hand it seems to all come together.
“You either die a hero or you live [play] long enough to become the villan.”
Chances are you’ve seen the Dark Knight by now, so you know the famous line spoken by Heath Ledger’s character the Joker.
I’d be curious to hear from the DunkinDonutsTalk community what your thoughts are on this.
One of the things I’m excited about is seeing the new iPhone 3G next week. None of the local Dunkin’ Donuts in my area supply wi-fi and I’ve always dreamed of sitting in my local DD sipping a hot coffee, munchin’ on some munchkins and reading the latest tech news. So if you see me looking weird at an iPhone next week you’ll know I’m reading techcrunch at blazing fast speed (or so I hope!).
Happy fourth of July DD fans!

Today someone submitted a comment letting me know this story was a hoax. While the story has not yet been confirmed yet, it appears that it may be a hoax.
Dunkin Donuts is a great American brand and I hope that it’s good name is cleared – along with the folks in Crown Point.
Go read the post on snopes.com.
Let me start this post by saying I have not been able to confirm this information fully; however, I’m reading enough things on the Internet today to lead me to believe there is some truth here. I haven’t seen anything on snopes.com yet disproving it either.
Here is what has been posted so far. This appears to be one of the earliest postings on the matter from Craigslist:
****This really did happens guys..my friend’s dad owns a business in CP and the cops came by and gave him a flyer urging him to boycott DD!! It’s NUTS!****
THIS HAPPENED IN CROWN POINT INDIANA.
This has made me so mad that I’m writing to all of you.
One of the building secretaries has a nephew in the Armed Forces. He and a buddy were in town, in uniform, and went into the Crown Point,IN Dunkin Donuts for coffee. The owner waited on them and REFUSED to serve them. His exact words (according to her) were “you are killing my countrymen and I will not serve you”. They asked him to repeat what he said because they couldn’t believe what they’d heard and he repeated it exactly.
The boy’s dad was so enraged that he went in and confronted the owner who admitted that was exactly what he said and he meant it. Dad turned to the people in the restaurant and told them what was going on and NO ONE left.
They contacted the corporate office and were told that a letter reprimanding the owner was sent. BIG DEAL.
Just so you know, this man also owns the Dunkin Donut in Merrillville,IN by K-Mart. I, for one, will never stop at either store again – that includes the Crown Point Baskin-Robbins that is also owned by him!
SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU FEEL THAT THIS IS HORRIBLE!
This could be a bunch of bunk; however, as one who loves Dunkin Donuts, if there is any shred of truth to it, we as the Dunkin Donuts community need to jump all over it and express our disgust to the store owner and to Dunkin Donuts corporate.
Please leave a comment in protest both on this post (for Dunkin Donuts corporate) and for the store owners themselves (on the stores page).
Reminder, I’m not affiliated with Dunkin Donuts, just a lover of the brand and product like all of you.
A commissary that provides pastries to 34 area Dunkin’ Donuts locations is being targeted in a lawsuit brought by the doughnut chain that raises concerns about the facility’s sanitary conditions.
The commissary, identified as Fresh Serve Bakeries Inc., is a subsidiary of Louisville-based Thorntons Inc. The commissary makes doughnuts, sandwiches and salads for distribution to Thorntons QuickCafe & Markets.
The lawsuit, filed Jan. 22 in U.S. District Court in Louisville, includes copies of private health inspections carried out at the commissary by Steritech Group, a third party hired by Dunkin’ Donuts. According to court records, the following problems surfaced during a Nov. 20 inspection.
Dust and cobwebs observed in the fryer hood.

Good evening Dunkin Donuts Talk Community-
Other than Dunkin Donuts, there are two things I’m really passionate about with regards to the Internet. Finding Free Wireless Internet and creating physical community out of the virtual world. As many of you know I’m working with a company out in California called AnchorFree which is in the business of supplying Free Wireless Internet and creating community – a great fit for me.
One of the things that we’re doing over there right now is helping online shoppers earn gift certificates for doing their normal shopping online. AnchorFree has over 350 online partners which online shoppers earn rewards points at for making purchases – and it’s these rewards points that can be redeemed for gift certificates with our partners.
As part of the Dunkin Donuts Talk community, I’d like to invite you to test this product and give you the opportunity to say “I was there from the beginning!” What I would like you to do is download and install the the Rewards-bar – currently only for IE, although a Mac version and Mozilla version are on the way; and then go about your regular shopping. If you are a Mozilla user, it would greatly help me if you could make your purchases using IE.
We are really excited about this product and we’re excited to be sharing it with you. If you have any feedback on the use of this product, please post it and I’ll pass it over to AnchorFree.
You can download the Rewards-bar at: AnchorFree Rewards-bar.
Good morning DunkinDonutsTalk.com Community-
I wanted to put a message out wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season. I’m going to be taking a few days off myself to spend some time with my family and enjoy a season of rest before 2006 kicks off.
The Christmas season is always a really enjoyable one in our household. My wife makes a huge deal out of it and decorates our home, bakes like crazy and we have a number of parties in our home. We have a few traditions ourselves, like watching White Christmas together, reading Luke chapters 1 and 2 before the Christmas meal begins, and of course watching lots and lots of football!
We are always looking for new traditions to integrate into our family, so I would love to hear from you if your family has some cool traditions around the holidays.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Scott
